Terms of Use
Last updated: 25 April 2026
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Levelary (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Beta software
The Service is in public beta. It may break, lose data, change radically, or shut down without notice. Treat it as experimental; don't rely on it as your only record of anything important. Export your data periodically (Settings → Your data) if you care about retaining it.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. If you are in the EEA / UK and under 16, you may use the Service only with verifiable consent from a parent or legal guardian. By signing up you represent that you meet this requirement and have the legal capacity to enter these Terms.
3. Your account
You create an account by providing an email address and password. We do not verify the email address. You may use any string in valid email format — but if you forget your password and the address is unreachable, we cannot recover the account. You are responsible for the activity that happens under your account and for keeping your credentials safe.
4. No payments
The Service is free. We do not accept payments of any kind. There is no paid tier, no upgrade, no donation flow. If a future version introduces paid features, those will be governed by a separate updated agreement that you'd accept explicitly at that time.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to do anything illegal, harmful, or that infringes someone else's rights.
- Attempt to access another user's account or data.
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or otherwise abuse the infrastructure.
- Upload malware or content that violates third-party intellectual property.
6. No sensitive data
The Service is a general-purpose skill tracker, not a health, medical, mental-health, or counselling product. You agree not to use the Service to store sensitive personal data — including but not limited to health information, mental-health journaling, religious or political views, sexual orientation, immigration status, financial data, or anything that would qualify as a "special category" under the GDPR. If you choose to do so anyway, you acknowledge that you do so at your own risk and that we have no obligation to detect, classify, or remove such content.
The Service is intentionally designed to not infer your health, mood, or psychological status from anything you log. We don't run sentiment analysis, mental-health classifiers, or behavioural-disorder inference on your data, and we will not build features that do so. The Service must not be used as a substitute for medical or psychological care.
7. Your content
You own the data you put into the Service (your skills, activities, notes, etc.). You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to host and display that data solely to operate the Service for you. We claim no ownership of your data and we will not use it for any other purpose without your explicit consent.
8. Service availability
The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE", without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, reliability, availability, or non-infringement. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, that the Service will be error-free, that data will not be lost, or that the Service will continue to exist.
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service or any feature at any time, with or without notice.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided to you free of charge and we accept no liability whatsoever for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Service — including, without limitation, damages for loss of data, loss of profits, business interruption, or any other commercial or personal damage. Our total aggregate liability is limited to zero (USD 0).
Some jurisdictions don't allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitations on certain damages; if those laws apply to you, some of the above may not apply, and our liability is limited to the minimum extent permitted by law.
10. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, or shut the Service down entirely, at any time and for any reason, without prior notice and without liability.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claim or demand arising out of your use of the Service or your violation of these Terms.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Romania, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be resolved in the competent courts of Romania, unless mandatory consumer-protection law gives you the right to bring a claim in your local courts.
13. Changes
We may update these Terms occasionally. Updates take effect when posted on this page. Because email addresses on the Service are unverified, we cannot reliably notify you by email — please check this page periodically. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance.
